THE SANTA TERESA CLASSICS WE KEEP COMING BACK TO
Santa Teresa is an amazing place for foodies and new restaurants open up all the time. However, there are some spots that we find ourselves coming back to over and over again. These are the places we’ve been going to for years, that never disappoint and still have a little of that old-school Santa Teresa feeling.
Koji’s
Our favorite for when we have friends or family visiting or when we want to treat ourselves to an exceptional dinner experience. Koji’s is a Japanese restaurant that offers a wide variety of small plates to share. What really stands out is how the ingredients are consistently super fresh. The seafood melts in your mouth and most of the produce comes from their own farm in the mountains behind Santa Teresa.
What we order: The Koji Roll and the Spicy Sesame Tuna
Lima 506
This casual family-owned restaurant used to be called Chicken Joe’s and has been our go-to spot for years. When we first moved here this was our Friday night dinner every single week. The menu is simple and everything is homemade and delicious. Their specialty is roasted chicken with your choice of sides but they also have some great options for non chicken eaters, like the fish and chips. Oscar, who owns the restaurant, is so sweet and the vibe is very friendly and familiar.
What we order: A ¼ chicken with fries and cabbage salad
Product C
They are finally back and the food is just as good as back in the old days! At their new location in Playa Hermosa they are serving all the old favorites - tacos, fish paté and surfer bowls and the atmosphere is just as good. This is the place in town that feels most like your neighborhood spot, the food is great and the vibes are high. If they have the Treasure Bar on the dessert menu - don’t miss it!
What we order: The fish tacos buffalo style and maybe a captain’s lemonade or two
Rocamar
Probably the spot we visit most frequently, it’s just a perfect place to spend an afternoon. Rocamar is located on the beach in the northern part of Santa Teresa. The menu is simple - tacos, burgers and a couple of salads and the atmosphere is very laid back. It’s one of those places where you can go for lunch, then hang out on the beach or tidepools nearby and come back for a drink or early dinner again later. It’s especially good on Sundays when they have a DJ playing vinyl for sunset.
What we order: The classic burger with fries
